About MKSSS The Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), Pune, India - was founded by the great visionary and ardent social worker Bharat Ratna Dhondo Keshav Karve who established India's first women's university (now known as SNDT Women's University). He believed that education was the key to women's empowerment and of utmost importance for the development of society and its citizens. The work of Maharshi Karve has today blossomed into 50 institutions under the banner of MKSSS and has evolved into an educational consortium that is recognized nationally and internationally.
